Bingham McHale to Provide Strategy Sessions for Up and Coming Business Professionals
Indianapolis area small business professionals now have a unique opportunity to strategize with Bingham McHale attorneys during a 60 minute strategy session on November 18, immediately before the At The Top kick off event.
During the “off the books” session, entitled “Pitfalls on the Road to the Top”, Bingham McHale attorneys will discuss many of the risks business professionals face as they grow their business and careers. Bingham McHale attorneys Dan Boots, John Daniluck, Jeremy Hill, Jeff Kirk and Matt Schantz will outline steps to be taken in order to alleviate vulnerabilities and avoid exposure.

The strategy session is designed to address these unique needs, such as raising capital, protecting intellectual property, hiring and keeping qualified staff amongst others. The Bingham McHale strategy session begins at 4:30 pm on Wednesday, November 18, and is open to all attendees of the Skyline Club’s “At The Top” networking event. “At The Top” is a 6-event business networking series presented by the Skyline Club of Indianapolis. It is designed to bring together prominent business leaders with other professionals desiring to reach the top of their game in a personal, relationship-building atmosphere.
Meet the Attorneys
Mr. Boots is the senior partner and former chair (1997-2009) of the Bingham McHale Intellectual Property & Technology area. He concentrates his practice on intellectual property counseling and litigation, including patent, trademark and export control licensing; copyright, trade secret and unfair competition matters; technology procurement and transfer; patent and trademark infringement and validity studies; preparation and prosecution of domestic and foreign patent and trademark applications in a variety of arts; E-commerce; computer software and hardware licensing; and trade secrets. Dan is also a member of the firm’s Manufacturing, Emerging Business, Media Law and Diversified Business Solutions teams.
John Daniluck focuses his practice on prosecution and licensing of patent applications in a wide variety of mechanical and electrical fields. Mr. Daniluck performed graduate research in computer modeling and testing of internal combustion engines, studied vehicle dynamics, and taught classes in instrumentation at Purdue in West Lafayette. He became a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Indiana in 1984. Mr. Daniluck obtained over 17 years of engineering experience with Hughes Aircraft Company, Missile Systems Group; General Motors, Allison Division, Advanced Military Engines; and Chrysler Corporation as an analyst, design engineer, systems engineer, supervisor, and chief project engineer. His technical experience includes analysis, testing, design, and engineering management of air to air missile guidance units, computer control systems for aircraft and automotive engines, jet engine hot sections, and automatic transmissions. Mr. Daniluck became an attorney in 1995. For 10 years he practiced patent law at a patent boutique law firm in Indianapolis, where he was a partner and Chairman of the firm’s Patent Group.
Jeremy Hill leads the firm’s Emerging Business Industry Team. Clients turn to him for a range of legal services, especially mergers and acquisitions, securities law compliance, business organization and general business and corporate transactions. He is also a member of the firm’s Business Advisory Department.
Matt Schantz serves a variety of small, medium and large clients, working as a strategic advisor to create and implement intellectual property strategy to make the most out of the things that make their businesses unique. Considering offensive and defensive issues in patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret law, he has served private- and public-sector clients in the electrical, electromechanical, night vision, semiconductor, software, mail processing and electromagnetic technology areas, and also in the furniture and automotive industries. Matt routinely handles a wide range of intellectual property matters, including patent and trademark applications, and manages and coordinates clients’ international intellectual property portfolios. He is admitted to practice as a patent attorney before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Jeff Kirk focuses his practice advising entrepreneurs on the legal and business aspects necessary to implement their commercialization strategies, including entity formation, raising capital, strategic collaborations, licensing technologies and other general corporate governance matters. Prior to law school, Mr. Kirk worked at Bank One in its Corporate Audit and Retail Groups. He was named a 2009 Rising Star by Indiana Super Lawyer and was named among the IBJ’s 2009 Forty Under 40.
